Over the last seven years, we have worked closely with The Portman Estate to successfully deliver cyclical repairs and decoration works to their portfolio of elegant historic buildings in the London Borough of Westminster.
The Portman Estate is located in Marylebone, a neighbourhood of elegant Georgian terraces, tranquil garden squares and high quality shops, cafes and restaurants.
The estate consists of 110 acres of prime central London property between Oxford Street and Edgware Road. All of the properties are either listed or in a conservation area.
We have carried out works to over 200 properties to date, both to communal areas and externally, obtaining listed building consent where necessary.
Works have included roof repairs and renewal, redecoration and improvement of communal areas, provision of fire alarm installations and emergency lighting, replacement of windows and doors, repairs and replacement of plaster and cornices, cast iron railings and Portland stone steps, and general redecoration.
Careful consideration is given to the selection of traditional materials to ensure the longevity of the buildings. Where appropriate we have worked closely with interior designers and structural engineers.
Works have been carried out on a measured term contract using a schedule of rates, and we have reduced costs by a significant amount.
