Following the merging of two companies we provided professional services to fit out Optivo’s new 40,000sqft head office on Croydon High Street. Optivo’s main drivers were quality, programme/phasing and budget.
A strict programme was required and implemented to move the staff from two separate head offices.
To ensure the client’s drivers were met we implemented a cost/quality split into the tendering process. Within the quality assessment, marks were awarded for the decanting/phasing process, bettering the programme (target date originally set at 24 weeks up to the date of lease expiry) and demonstrating quality through previous projects. Each tendering contractor presented their proposals trough a formal presentation process with all stakeholders present.
The successful contractor provided a programme of 14 weeks (later extended to 16 weeks) bettering the target duration by 8 weeks (33%). They subsequently delivered on time through a three phase decanting process. The original contract sum was £1,559,517.61 and the final account was settled at £1,513,947.16, a reduction of £45,570.45 which included additional work and furniture.
