Baily Garner acted as Independent Certifier for this new state of the art leisure centre in Egham, Surrey. The new leisure centre is a joint venture between Runnymede Borough Council and Places for People and forms part of the £200m long term Runnymede Regeneration Programme.
Completed in spring of 2019, facilities in the new lightweight steel construction building include a 25 metre eight lane swimming pool with a moveable floor and spectator seating, along with a 10 x 10 metre learner pool with splash area.
The two storey Health & Fitness Suite includes a four court multi-use sports hall, a 110 station fitness suite and cycle room, four flexible studios and an indoor cycling studio, together with a sauna, steam rooms, a relaxation area, wet and dry treatment rooms and a community medical room.
A café is ideally situated alongside the crèche and a double height adventure play area. The hard and soft landscaped areas outside the new centre have been developed for enhanced community use, and to complement the existing 3G five-a-side football pitches. Now known as Egham Orbit and managed by Achieve Lifestyle the new facilities, warmly welcomed by residents, form a key milestone in the future planned redevelopment of the town.
