We have produced a new practical toolkit for achieving net zero in new build homes.
This is the first of two toolkits we are compiling this year with the second tackling the key issue of retrofitting existing homes available later this year.
The toolkit includes explanations of what net zero carbon means and the calculations used to meet the upcoming Building Regulations Part L and Part F and the Future Homes Standard. Possible approaches and currently available technologies are outlined, with commentary on the implications for design and residents’ future use of their homes. Our sustainability specialists have undertaken a modelling exercise on typical house and flat layouts to compare the compliance of available technologies, with input from our quantity surveying team to provide an assessment of the cost implications of meeting the standards.
You can access the toolkit here.
