Dallow Street, a rented accommodation scheme of 20 apartments and 20 houses comprising 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom dwellings was, at the time, the largest stand-alone project for our Client Trent & Dove Housing Limited.
Baily Garner acted as Architects, Employer's Agent and Cost Consultants on this £3 million scheme, built on a unique brownfield site in Burton upon Trent. The development incorporated a number of design challenges, including a mature landscape of trees, topography issues and reducing noise from an elevated dual carriageway running adjacent to the site. An existing canal and Victorian bridge structure also formed part of the new development creating a distinctive character which, along with newly created green spaces and mature trees, resulted in an award winning development. The scheme won praise at the Burton upon Trent Civic Society Annual Design Awards in 2014, resulting in a “Commended New Buildings” Award.
