An estate transfer from the London Borough of Lambeth to Network Housing Group in March 2007, comprising 1970s walk up blocks, a 15 storey tower block and 120 Victorian street properties.
Outline planning consent for demolition and redevelopment was obtained to provide 550 new mixed tenure homes, together with refurbishment works to 611 existing properties. This included the provision of an office, retail units, energy centre and associated infrastructure/landscaping. The original business plan included a £10m dowry from the Local Authority and excluded all other forms of grant subsidy, anticipating private development sales to finance the refurbishment elements. Led by Building Surveyors, all existing blocks and street properties to be refurbished were surveyed, works fully scoped and all new build schemes subject to a buildability and Life Cycle cost analysis/technical review.
