Manchester Street is a conversion of a 4 storey Grade II Listed Georgian property from a hostel to 4 high quality residential flats for rent. We have acted as lead consultant overseeing a team of M&E consultants, a structural engineer, party wall surveyor and CDM coordinator, from inception through to completion.
We obtained Planning and Listed Building Consent for the works, liaising closely with both the planners and the conservation officer. Specialists were employed to repair the unique features of each property - chimney pieces, intricate ironwork, coade stone, York stone steps and covings, plaster cornicing, original joinery, lime plaster and repointing - and by replicating missing or badly corroded/damaged sections we ensured the properties were restored to their original finery. Careful selection of materials and specialists was key to the success of the project, working collaboratively with the Conservation Officer.
