A major high density regeneration scheme for the London Borough of Brent. As well as 110 new build dwellings, the scheme provided a community centre as a landmark building for the local area, together with public and communal space in the form of a pocket park. The Council used this scheme as a benchmark to demonstrate to local people and other stakeholders their intent to regenerate the wider South Kilburn area.
We worked very closely with the resident Steering Group throughout the scheme, training and involving residents in Contractor interviews and ultimately in the selection process. Throughout the 2 year defects liability period we held regular monthly defects meetings geared towards obtaining high levels of resident satisfaction for defect completion. The scheme was a Building for Life winner in 2009 and was short listed for the RIBA Design Awards in 2010.
