Baily Garner were commissioned by Oasis Learning Foundation, one of the largest multi-academy trusts overseeing 48 academies across four regions in the North, Midlands, South West and South East of England, to complete a Condition Assessment of all of their key building components to determine a funding plan of when, and how much, they would need to spend over the next 60 years to maintain their school academies.
Our condition surveys of 48 schools were carried out over a very tight six week period spanning the school summer holidays to achieve the final report deadline of September. Once the surveys were complete, the data collected was collated into a concise, bespoke spreadsheet enabling Oasis’s Asset Management Team to interrogate any element of their buildings at a glance, with condition values of A to D determining the urgency of works – D requiring the earliest attention. Any element of any school could be identified – with over 8500 elements included and profiled over 60 years.
Our final report gave a Capital Allocation Cost at current rates covering a 60 year period, profiling individual schools and including prelims, overheads, profits and fees. Our commission was also extended to appraise existing M+E survey data and include it within our Life Cycle analysis.
