Baily Garner provided full Employer’s Agent and Cost Consultant services for this £9.5 million project involving demolition of an existing shopping precinct and redevelopment to provide 70 mixed tenure residential dwellings, a community library and A1-A5 commercial and retail space, including all external works, landscaping and services.

Split over 6 phases, the last completing in December 2016, the project was a Joint Venture between BY Development (part of the Bouygues UK Group), Spectrum Housing and Southampton City Council, which was partly reflected in the contract sum of £9.5 million which is considerably lower than typically expected of a project of this size and nature. Cost control was therefore paramount for this particular scheme.

Weston Lane won 24 Housing’s Award for ‘Affordable Housing Scheme of the Year’ in 2016.
