Dolliffe Close in Mitcham is one of three sheltered housing schemes, transferred from the London Borough of Merton to Merton Priory Homes, fulfilling a commitment to provide new sheltered housing for the borough's older residents looking to live independently yet within a secure environment.
With original buildings occupying the site deemed no longer fit for purpose and subsequently demolished, the new build development at Dolliffe Close provides 43 one and two bedroom apartments, 23 for extra care supported housing, 18 for assisted living and 2 general needs flats, with associated common areas and external landscaping.
All homes within the development have underfloor heating and are built to meet the future requirements of residents, utilising the HAPPI aspirations. Extra care apartments enjoy the benefit of a communal lounge and kitchen, a lift, garden and guest facilities with an assisted bathroom, together with a cyber terminal giving internet access, communal car parking and mobility scooter storage. Baily Garner were Client's Representative, CDMC and Cost Consultants for this £5.37 million scheme.
